QNX is a commercial Unix-like real-time operating system, aimed primarily at the embedded systems market. As a microkernel-based OS, QNX is based on the idea of running most of the OS apps in the form of a number of small tasks, known as servers. BlackBerry Tablet OS is a new OS based on QNX Neutrino that will reportedly be able to run apps developed for Google's Android. The first device to run it will be the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet computer.
